Pull the buzzer, pop the cover off, and remove the metal disk (diaphragm) and put it all back together.
It will think it is squawking at you, but you won't here it.

trust me, it is tied to the intermittent wipers.
the dinger is inside the CTM, and the ding is the same ding as "hey you left your lights on", and "hey this gas guzzler is low on fuel".

simple solution -
remove the knee panel and the covers from around the steering column.
unplug the 2 wire connector attached to the ignition switch.
--no fuss, no muss, no downside--

lol ok. I was thinking they were not connected in factory setup, that some mod was done.

Re-reading the OP, I'm interpreting that the plunger switch (after multiple hits) then stops the noise? Implies that the switch is getting all mucked up, right?

i'm guessing his sensor at the ignition switch is bad, falsely telling the pcm that the key is in the ignition. unplugging that might stop it.

--or, he might have a short in the wad of wires at the tilt wheel knuckle, involving that "key in ignition" circuit.

^this is a good mod for anyone (like me) that likes to open the door with the key in ignition and not be bothered by the dinger.
