More Shock talk
In March I bought our 2011 Durango Crew with 5.7l. Unfortunately factory warranty timed out so I bought an extended that does not cover shocks. Needless to say I was noticing some poor handling characteristics over bumps but no real noise. Looking under showed rear shocks covered in oil and grime(guess I missed that while looking at the truck). I see quite a few posts of shocks failing early and being backordered with no idea of an ETA and confirmed this at a local dealer.
If this is a big problem on these is there going to be any kind of recourse for an owner or do I have to shell out the money for new shocks on a 48,000 mile truck. The thing is starting to get scary to drive, never know which lane you'll end up in when hitting bumps(exaggeration)
Second question is how do I know which rear suspension I have? I may want to go aftermarket.
Rear; Except Electronic, Self Leveling and Performance Suspension
Rear; w/o Nivomat Rear Suspension
