Default Durango Roof Rails Loose

Hey guys (and girls), just bought a gently used 2013 Dodge Durango Citadel Hemi this week. I was checking out all the features and decided to set up the "stow n' place" roof rack crossbars. When I was doing so, I noticed the rails (not the crossbars) have quite a bit of "wiggle" to them. Is that normal? I plan to transport a 75 lb 11-foot kayak up there on an upcoming camping trip, and I'd rather not have the kayak rip the rails off at highway speeds. Is there a way to tighten those rails down if they become loose? I haven't tried anything yet. I just bought the vehicle 4 days ago... so wondering if I should take it back to the dealer to have them checked out.

I'd appreciate any tips/tricks from anyone who has experience with this.

My 2017's rails wiggle a bit at the front. They mount via a slot and bushing on one end and a bolt at the other. While not very appealing they will function as advertised. I don't get wadded up about stuff like this.

I have a 2011 and the main longitudinal roof rails are tight-tight to the roof. They don't rattle, shake, wiggle, nothing.

Not sure of the difference between '11 - '13 - '17

My '12 has a little side-to-side movement, but I don't think it's a concern. I think it's all the decorative trim stuff that's hiding the actual attachment.

I had a 2012 Crew and I now have a 2017 Citadel...both with the Stow and Go system...both had roof rails tight to the roof...no movement at all.

I'd go back to where you bought the vehicle and have them check/tighten.
