2008 Ram Navigation Disk Replacement
Hello,
New member here....
I have a 2008 Ram 2500 Mega Cab Laramie 4x4 with the built in Navigation system.
A month or so ago, I got a notice in the mail that it was time to update the CD that drives the unit at a cost of $200. I thought "what the heck?"
I put the notice aside for awhile. Now, everytime I start my truck, I get 2 beeps, and a messsage on my navigation screen that says "NAV MESSAGE". When I switch over to NAV mode, the message flashes by so fast, it's impossible to read it. The beeping is beginning to get on my nerves.
Yesterday, I called the number on the notice, and was told that there would be a yearly "update CD" that would need to be installed at a cost of $200 (currently) for this CD. I'm kind of pissed as this was never explained to me when I ordered the truck.
Does anyone have any work arounds for this? Or at the very least, can someone tell me how to get that obnoxious beeping to stop when I start my truck?
Thanks for your help.
