Shock Suggestions
2008 1500 4x4 with 5.7 Hemi.
I have about 67,000 miles...the ride feels pretty harsh at this point. Does it seem reasonable that replacements of the stock equipment would be in order with that mileage? I have subjected the truck to very little harsh driving.
I'd like to hear opinions on the best replacement shocks/struts. I am not looking for serious offroading. Just the best and smoothest ride for normal day to day driving.
Thanks in advance.

If you are just looking for a daily on-road driver type of replacement, Monroe is a good bet and usually relatively cheap. If you are lifted at all, Bilstein 5100's are tops (without going reservoir like FOX, or something), but expensive and about useless for a daily driver, honestly. I've had Rancho 5000 on mine for a few years now, but since I've stopped taking it wheeling I'm considering something with a bit more road manners soon. Do some research on here; Rancho, ProComp and a host of others are all the same shock (in their varying models) made under the Tenneco umbrella... just at differing prices due to name brand.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have new monroe rear shocks, front quick struts, and front lower bushings on the way. Does anyone here know or know where I can find the proper torque specs for:
1. The three nuts on top of the front struts. 45 ft lb 2. The large nut at the bottom of the front strut. 155 ft lb 3. The top & bottom nuts on the rear shocks. 100 ft lb. Edit-This info has been found.
Also it does not appear that my truck has a steering dampener or I would replace that as well...I see that as a Monroe part SC2964. I have a 2008 1500 4x4 5.7 Hemi with the "normal" crew cab. Do only 2500s or certain 1500s have this part? Or am I just blind because I have looked every where and I don't see one under there.
Thanks in advance.
