Default 2wd vs 4wd education needed.

I do not understand what the difference is between the 2wd and 4wd suspension systems on these trucks. I have a 2wd and with a 1.5 front end leveling kit on it. Its sits pretty level but want to run a larger tire on it without adding a 4 inch lift. I see a few 2.5 inch front 1 inch rear leveling kits out there that say 4x4 only. so why wont these kits work on a 2wd? Dodge is big on this new coil rear suspension so I know that the rear suspension on the rear suspension has to be the same on the 2wd and 4wd trucks.

Also, does anyone know if the Bilstien shocks that allow for 2.8 inches of lift work on the 2WD? And how can you lift the rear if I went this route?
