340 block sourcing

340 block sourcing
So i was going to build a R3 360-LA block for my truck, but I called my contact at mopar and found out that they quit production on R3 LA blocks shortly after discontinuing the R3 Magnum blocks. I checked for the P5007552AB 340-Replacement engine block, he said the number still shows good but there are ZERO in nationwide inventory.
I'm looking at doing an 8-71 build from Dyer's, making 700-800 HP safe and 850-950 leaning on it. I'm trying to avoid running a stock block for every obvious reason, although I know some people pushing 750 on 2-bolt magnum blocks with girdles and the whole 9 yards. I already decided that if I have to run a stock block, it won't be a stroker, since I don't want to be beating the living snot out of the caps and cylinder walls. We had a 4.25 arm in a stock BB chevy block in the camaro, knocked a main completely out of it (ripped the webbing right out) and cracked 2 cylinders. I aint playing that game with a mopar motor.
Does anybody have any experience doing a 410 or 416 inch build from a 340 block, or where any 340 resto-blocks might be hidden/stockpiled?
HPT makes an LA-Magnum motor mount adapter, so that isn't a problem. I just need a good 4 bolt main block to shove a bunch of HP into. http://stores.hi-potek.com/high-perf...ota-1997-2003/
Thanks!

Yes my contact is at a dealer. Who are the NOS dealers?
I'm looking over at Indy's site, and they list their version of the R3 Iron LA block for $3000 for both the siamese 48 degree and wet 59 degree blocks. http://www.indyheads.com/images/price.2015.09.pdf
Then they show assembled heads with T&D shaft rockers ($$$) for $3955, or $4605 in 48 degree configuration. http://www.indyheads.com/images/price.2015.14.pdf
So I'll be giving them a call on Monday. If they in fact have it all, then maybe I will be back on track for a 1000 HP stock frame Dakota. I'll have a 100 shot plate under the E-85 carb.

E85 also likes timing with guys running 36-40 degrees at 12 psi.
So, you're looking at around 800 hp.
If you ran fresh drum E85 all the time, you can run the boost up to 15-18 psi and get around 2.5 hp/cid (1000hp)
