Default One brake light not working

1998 Caravan SE 3.0. All the other lights work, including the running light for that side, just the one brake light won't work. I changed the bulb, but that didn't fix the problem. Any idea what I would need to check next? I'm assuming, probably shouldn't do that, that power must begetting to the socket otherwise the taililght wouln't work either?

Default RE: One brake light not working

It is two separate wires going to the tailight and brake light. First step would be to have someone push the brake pedal while you use a test light or volt meter to see if power is reaching the socket. Next step would be to check if you are getting power to the tailight assembly circuit board. Do this by checking for power where the wires plug onto the circuit board.
