Stock cass/cd radio needed, 1996 caravan?
I need the stock cd/cass radio. The caravan is 1996. Not sure what other years have the same radio, but I'm looking for a used one. The current one broke, and I don't want an aftermarket one. I looked on ebay, but can't find the same one.
Also, will other stock dodge radios plug right in and fit with no mods needed in a 1996?
This is what I want.
Anyone have one they want to get rid of?

Try a junkyard.
and eletrical, my 89 Plymouth Sundance had the same wiring and radio as my 90 Grand Caravan, not sure if another car would be the same for the 96.If you do goto a junkyard and cant find the same van you have, look around the area for dodge cars of the same year, they may be the same.I'm not sure about newer cars, but some of the older cars have the same components

I bought that exact one for my 1999 from this guy. He is a good guy and was fast in replying and shipping my order. The used unit looked new and functions just fine. I didn't compare his prices to the wreaking yards, so I don't know if he's pricey. I needed 2 radios and didn't want to screw around looking as one was for a vintage car. They are in most cases used radios with an unknown amount of use/abuse, so that has to be factored in...YMMV.

The square-faced radios from the Ram, Dakota, Durango, Cherokee, and a few others will fit. Here are some pics of what you need. The first one is of the back of a DCX radio. For it to work, it MUST hae the connectors outlined in yellow. If you have a CD changer, then it also needs the connector outlined in red. The second picture shows what style of mounting tabs you need.
