New to the forum and need help! Have a 2003 GC Sport and for the last year or so have been hearing a rubbing type noise coming from the back of the van. Makes a med. pitch squealing noise and it only happens when turning corners. Was happening mostly when turning right and now seems to be doing this turning left as well. Have taken this complaint to service several times but of course it doesn't happen everytime it's driven so no fault found. Just about to come out of warranty so getting a little worried. Has anybody had this type of problem? Also any advise on getting extended warranty?

 

Hi, couple of quick guesses, sounds like a wheel bearing because it happens when you turn and load the bearing on one side. The other thing could be a dragging shoe. Does this happen more after you back up? (I had a similar thing with my 97 GC because the rear brakes would adjust when backing up and then drag slighlty for a bit). Good Luck

 

Thanks for the reply! Don't think it happens after backing up but I'll give the wheel bearing idea a try.
