Well the cluster is just about gone. It doesnt work more then it does. I took it to the dealer just to get a price on what the replacement job would cost me. $347 for the part and at least $300 for the labor. The van has over 200k on it and I dont even think its worth $600 bucks retail .. anyway .. I asked the Service manager if I could put one in from a junk yard. He told me no. That wasnt possible because the pc board at ther back has to be programmed with the vin. In addtion, he went on to say, you can only program a single vin into the board.

Does anyone know if this is true or is this guy blowing smoke up my a$$ ?

 

I call BS. I have a 96, which is same, and swapped mine for $25. Ten screws and Prndl adjuster. and its out. Your Mileage will also stay the same. If that was true he would had to of sold you a new cluster and a new PCM. That would cost me than 300.
