2000 Caravan 3.0 clicking?
I have a 2000 Caravan with 3.0 engine. It has 144K miles on it. Have driven it for about a month with no problems. Motor is so quiet can hardly hear it running, its very smooth. Until I changed the oil, now it has a clicking sound from motor.Sometimes it will quit clicking for awhile, then start back up. I put pennzoil hi/mile 10W/30 with purolator 1 oil filter. What should i do first? Not sure where to start.

RE: 2000 Caravan 3.0 clicking?
The Mobil One/Lucas combo seems to be the best for eliminating the tick. My 97 3.0 has almost 250K miles and that's all that keeps the ticking noise at bay for me. From what I've been told by every mechanic I've asked, the ticking noise is common and not a cause for alarm. It's just how an old Chrysler engine sounds.

RE: 2000 Caravan 3.0 clicking?
Thanx for the info regarding the ticking. I've never tried the Lucas Oil treatment, but I will now.
The ticking is caused by the hydraulic valve lifters. They require oil pressure to operate properly, and when the oil pickup gets blocked, the pressure drops and the lifters start making noise, hence the ticking sound.
