Default '48 Dodge Truck engine swap

I've just got a '48 Pilothouse 1/2 ton truck, came with two 218's, but both are seized solid, and I can't unstick them, so I figure smallblock time. My question is, should I swap the engine/trans/rear end, or just go for the Dakota frame swap? Theres a ton of work involved with both, has anyone here done them? Recomendations?
Thanks!

frame swap. not that ive done it. i talked to a guy one time. he took a 1957 d-100, and grafted the front part of 1973 d-100 frame into the 1957. he said the 1973 frame fits inside the 1957 frame. he said that there is a hole on both frames that line up perfect, making the new frame aligned just right. AND makes putting a 73 engine in a true bolt in, and better suspension. may be some one has done this can give the info to you.
