I was researching a problem with my six speed manual (2003 3500) and i found this writeup from 2007 on this forum.

I took the link back to another Cummins forum i hang out on and was told it was just crazy to crack open the case on an NV5600.

But this kid did it and no one here told him he was nuts so i thought I'd see if anyone else here has any supporting advice.

I paid $4K for the truck. It's a beat up daily driver. The trans is giving me trouble in sixth gear. I have access ot a big press. Thinking i might try to change the bad synchro.

Nope, but I found a truck with a bad main shaft for a decent price and I'm half tempted to give it a whack. Worst comes to worst, I can get an ebay trans for under $2k and still turn a decent profit.
