Default Weird Ram Van Tire Issue

OK, so I just bought a 1997 3500 Ram Conversion Van and I noticed that the tires looked slightly small, so I researched it and I am supposed to have 225 75 16s. The current tires are 235 75 15, so I went and found some correct tires and rims, checking the lug spread online to be sure. As I put the rims in the van, an 8 lug as online told me so, I see that the current ones are 6 lug. So...not sure what to do now, any help would be appreciated.

I thought all Dodge vans were 5 or 8 lug.

Dakotas had 6 but yeah vans typically have 5 or 8 lugs. That's odd.

Why not stick with the tire size you got now? Apparently its been working for nearly 2 decades. I suppose your speedo might be off by 1 mph when going 60.

That sounds about right. Your van has Dodge truck rims.

The LT235/75R15 has a lower load rating than the LT225/75R16 that can be in several load ranges. Load-E is the best because of handling and fuel savings.
