Default 1989 b250 front suspension

I just started working on my new 1989 b250 Mark III conversion van....less than 100,000 original miles on the 5.2lt 318. I first removed the smog system with a cat. delete.
but the front suspension is too bouncy and makes little knock type noises when hitting even small bumps.....I need it stiff so when I tow or drive distance its not so sloppy......need advice for quick fix????

Front end work and quick fix don't ordinarily go together.
Probably needs new shocks all the way around. Knock could be anything in the front suspension, could even be broken shock mount. Otherwise, check your ball joints. I don't do front end work, no place or tools to work on it -- I take mine to a tire/front-end shop and have them check it out.

As Sparkzz said the knocking could be many things like loose tie rod ends, worn ball joints, tired/dried out or damaged isolation rubber through out the font end would allow for play in components and cause clunking/knocking sounds. I would get underneath and try to find play among the components.

do you have any recommends for a real good heavy duty coil spring & shock brands. the frontend shop said today that front end looks good but it could use shocks & coil springs could make it a little stiffer.

Moog 7268, Moog 7270 and Moog 7272 are the available springs which are drop in fits. 7272 are the stiffest/ thickest diameter. I replaced 7270's with 7272.

Measure spring diameter to determine what you have now and look on Moog's website on coil thicknesses to compare.

I like KYB gas a just shocks. They give a firm ride, which I like, but those wanting more a Cadillac feel can go Monroe sensa trac.
