I checked my van today using the check engine light and get 3 flashes then 5 then 5. What does this code mean.

 

Try again, something isn't quite right. All codes are 2 digits long. The cycle repeats 3 times, so all of the codes are displayed, then the first one again, etc...

 

What van? What year? What engine?

My mistake code 12.

 

Ok. Then everything is good with the computer. 12 means the battery has been disconnected at some point. The two 5's just mean it is at the end of the messages. It should blink 3 times (code 12), then 5 and 5 (55, end Of messages). Everything is fine.
