Yes, the OEM plug may need to be spliced, but the connector will be OEM and not a "computer connector". Which O2 sensor is missing? 96 is OBD2, so there should be one before and after the CAT. I would have been telling that person to show me what he was talking about before ever leaving that station.

Both O2 sensor were hooked up and running fine

He just did not like that the wires were into a NON OE plug. Told me per the law, they had to be OE, and were not allowed to be spliced in. I told him I went to the dealership, to get the pins and plug, and they don't offer the pins separately, it has wires already connected to the pins, and has to be spliced into the main harness.....

Here is the part offered by the dealership:

[picture is from NAPA autoparts, but the dealership has the EXACT same thing]

Right, but it would be oem plugs and splices. Not whatever computer connector is on there now. At any rate, I stand by going to another place for the inspection. If both O2 sensors are there then missing O2 sensor should not be on the report. Tampered with, yes, but not missing.

well, my dog ate through the connectors, literally.... I think it is rediculous for it to not be allowed that I fixed it.

I talked to a friend who is a smog tech in CA, he said, as long as it was there and hooked up, shouldn't be a problem. I think this guy just wanted to be a jerk

yeah.... well I got some harness from pick n pull. jsut gotta tap it in now.....

then going to a friend of a friend, that said he knows what is wrong, and will fix it... said $60 to look at it, and then the fix will be $100

he sounds pretty certain it is the head or heads -- however, I have only chatted with him over text and through my friend.....
