well its been well over a week and the issue has not returned.
so if it wasn't the bearings it might have been something else not right but fixed when i took it apart. possibly a kinked brake line on the passenger side was the issue.

Oh, it could have been the bearings. After taking things apart and placing them back together, the washer, nut and cotter-pin presses up against the bearings to hold the disc in place. If toooooo tight, the bearings will chatter, make a grinding noise or get very hot. I usually hand tighten the nut at tight as possible, free spin the wheel, check for play and then toss on the stamped form over the nut with the cotter-pin.
Otherwise, yes there is a chance for a pinched break line too.
