That's nuts, I managed to get 22 mpg in my old 79 Cordoba back in the day. I was also making about 450 hp as well. Having 3.73's didn't hurt either.

hey all, have a question here. I have a 94 2500 that is pretty much a yard truck but I do put some highway miles on it. I was on the highway the other day and the truck started surging/sputtering until I got it down under 40-45mph - hard to tell since my speedo doesn't work.
I put the truck in neutral and gun the engine and it seems fine. Put it in 1st, 2nd, or drive and once I get over 2K rpm it starts to surge/sputter again. Don't think it's the tranny but I could be wrong...

Clogged cat? speed sensor? tps? fuel filter?
