Stratus R/T and short ram inta
Hey guys, I'm new here. I just purchased a '01 Stratus R/T and love it. I like the way the engine sounds and I've never modified any car before.</P>
With a car like this that is right on the edge of being high performance (by my standards anyway) I want to make the one mod that is cheapiest, safest, and most bang for buck. From what I've read it would be an AEM Short Ram intake. </P>
People who have put them on V6's claim that there engine has more of a v8 sound since the short ram install. I like the R/T's already throaty (for v6) sound and think that this should work well with it. </P>
Anybody here had experience with this setup? I've never done ANY mods to an engine before, think I could tackle it with the instructions that AEM will provide?</P>
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated!</P>

Stratus R/T and short ram inta
I have installed Mopar Performance, Ice Man, Injen, AEM, APC and a few other cold air intakes on a variety of cars and only encountered one problem once with a supplied hose being too short for the install on an integra, nothing a 5 minute trip to Autozone and $3 couldn't fix <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley36.gif border="0"> . Short ram intakes are the easiest to install, so don't worry. The reason for the V8 sound is that with a CAI or a short ram, you hear the roar of the air rushing into the throttle body where the stock airbox set up muffles it. For more V8 sound, put Flowmaster mufflers on it, at idle it will sound like a V8. Unfortunately, it will still sound like a V6 when you accelerate. <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0"> <edited><editID>71ROADRUNNER</editID><editDate>37992.0420833333</editDate></edited>
