Smile 65 sport Fury 2drht.

My first new car,Ruby Red,65 sport fury ,2drht.,Black vinyl interior,426 wedge,365 Hp 425ftlbs,Factory hurst 4sp. ,heavy duty clutch, manual steering,my wife could barely depress the clutch, until her left leg got muscled-up from driving the beast.nice street car,not real fast, about 92/95 in the qtr. I was 24 at the time and that car was everything to me.I'd love to have it back, like it was then, with all the good stuff available today it would be fun to build-up.

The 65 sport-fury was on a different platform it was longer and heavier, thats why they put the 426 street-wedge ,they must have beefed-up the clutch, never had any problems.I blew the engine at 26,000 miles, but Chrysler rebuilt it under their 5/50 warranty. The mechanic that rebuilt it called me and ask if it was OK to put in a bigger cam. He had the 284/284 in stock, the stock cam was 268/268.She had an awesome idle with the bigger-cam and a little better top-end,if you can call abt 5,000 rpm a top-end. lol. The hydraulic lifters would float abt. 5,000. I bought the 65 in tacoma, washington,I think it was abt. 3,000.00 out the door.
