Default Headlight LED

Hey guys I am new to the site. I have looked around for the next 20 some odd pages and I see some talk about LEDs but not a whole lot. I have a 2014 1500 with projectors. I'm starting to think I hate these projectors. Anybody have used or would recommend LEDs? Price doesn't matter because you get what you pay for.

You should already have HID's if you have factory projectors, no? Going to LED from projector HID would be a step backwards....

I don't have HID's. It's just a standard 9012 bulb in the projector.

I don't know anything about LED headlights but I think that HID headlights are the way to go. I have a set on from xenonhid.com. I got a full kit with a direct wiring harnes to the battery and I love them. Best ones I've had on my truck so far. Also ran into an issue with the harness and they send me a brand new harness next day. So if you wanna go the HID way check them out!!

all depends what you are looking to get out of your lights...some things to look at are lumens, power draw, durability, installation.

HIDS can be brighter than LEDS
HIDS draw more power than LEDS
HIDS are less durable than LEDS
HIDS take longer/more complex to install than LEDS
HIDS emit more heat than LEDS
HIDS have a shorter lifespan than LEDS
HIDS need to "warm up" vs instant on with LEDS

Hi Michael, I have had bad luck with HIDs I had 4 (2) for head lights and (2) for fog. They would go out every few months ballast or bulb. I had LED's installed for my fogs been about a year now and no problems they look look just as bright to me. I have my left HID head light out again! Going to replace them with LED's
