Default Oil Change alert reset?

Is the only way to reset the oil change alert is to connect the DTC to the truck with a reset which i did just waiting to see it it reappears.

Turn key to on position, push has pedal to the floor 3 times within 10 seconds

Push the gas pedal to the floor 3 times in 10 seconds after turning the ignition to run. Don't start.
