ikeyless.com is a fairly popular site for getting keys. However, the Dart is too new, I would NOT trust any aftermarket keys yet until some reviews comes out and weed out the keys that doesn't work.

Dart SE - I purchased a transponder key marked CHR 15P1.

I haven't been able to get the car into programming mode. The instructions are below. I can't get Step 5 to work so I haven't been able to try the key.

S T E P S:
1)You must to have 2 already programmed Sentry Keys.
2)Insert one of the 2 valid Sentry key into the ignition lock and turn to the RUN position.
3)After the ignition been in the RUN position for approximately 5 seconds,
but not more than 15 seconds, turn the key to the OFF position.
4)Remove the key and insert the second valid key and turn to the RUN position within 15 seconds.
5)Approximately 10 seconds after the second key is turned to the RUN position,
the theft alarm light will start to flush,
and single chime tune will sound to indicate the system is in the customer programming mode.

6)Within 60 seconds of entering to customer programming mode,
turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and remove the key.

7)Insert the new key (un-programmed) and turn the ignition lock to the RUN position.
8)Approximately 10 seconds later, a single audible chime tone will sound and the
Theft alarm light will stop, wait 5 seconds and then turn off the ignition.

9)The key should start the car now."

I was stuck on the car portion and played with the keys a bit...
Using this new key without the RFID chip results: "key fob damaged".
Using this new key with the RFID inside chip results: "wrong key fob".

I understand that these keys CANNOT be reused (on two different cars) but I do not know if the above messages indicate that it has been used or not.

Key seller 1 - states that it can be programmed using two functioning keys.
Key seller 2 - states that only the dealer or locksmith can program these keys.
The Dodge dealer said that the instructions are correct and to try again. He also said to look it up on youtube. It is $109 to program my blank key.

This a transponder key - it is a metal key for the door and the transponder for the ignition. It looks like a regular key. It does not have the buttons for lock, unlock, panic and trunk.

Can anybody use those steps and get step 5 to work?
