2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat: No Rest for the WickedDodge

Dodge may finally answer 1970s Challenger fans prayers this summer with the new SRT Hellcat.

Dodge is again reaching back to its 100-plus-year history as it evolves the Challenger lineup for 2019, introducing a new dual-snorkel hood on SRT Hellcat models that pays homage to the distinctive Mopar design themes from some of its most famous muscle cars.

This new, fully-functional hood harkens back to the mid-60s and early-70s, but with a modern interpretation that looks even more sinister and provides maximum air intake to the supercharged power plant.

As you can see in the photo above, the snorkels are prominent on the hood but they aren’t garish. In fact, there are as svelte as the rest of the body. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like the 2019 SRT Hellcat will also retain the widebody option.

The current Hellcat Challenger has a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi capable of 707-horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Will the 2019 version crank out more with a factory tune? Possibly.

Details are scant as of now, but we will get more information this summer.
