Apocalypse Super Truck Debuts as the Wildest Ram We’ve Ever Seen
For those that want to drive something straight out of a futuristic sci-fi movie set, the Apocalypse Super Truck has arrived.
Over the years, Apocalypse Manufacturing has developed a reputation for transforming Jeeps and Broncos into some of the craziest-looking things you’ll ever see, complete with lift kits, massive wheels and tires, and bodywork that makes these SUVs look like they came straight from the movie set of some post-apocalyptic action movie. This obviously appeals to a certain subset of enthusiasts – folks that don’t mind soaking up attention everywhere they go – but for those that want a full-size pickup that bears this kind of look, the new Apocalypse Super Truck has arrived to fill yet another niche.
As one might immediately recognize, the Apocalypse Super Truck doesn’t look a whole lot like a stock Ram 1500 anymore, thanks to a bevy of exterior upgrades. Riding high on 22-inch wheels wrapped with 40-inch tires, its eight-foot bed features a weatherproof retractable slant-back with a rolling and locking cover, providing a fastback look, while up front, a Grumper gives the truck a pretty menacing face that perfectly matches its futuristic flanks.
Meanwhile, wide-open wheel wells ensure that there’s enough clearance to not only go off-loading, but also survive ramp-jumping up to ten feet off the ground – something that Apocalypse has tested itself over 50 times. However, the interior is a stark contrast to the exterior, as it’s awash in luxury, with custom diamond-stitched leather seats, a material that also covers the door panels, dash, and arm rests. Otherwise, it’s all Ram in here, which isn’t a bad thing, as that brand makes one of the nicer interiors in the business.
As one might imagine, the Apocalypse Super Truck is no slouch in terms of performance, either. Rather, it’s equipped with a modified 6.2-liter Hemi V8 sporting a supercharger that helps it send 850 raging horsepower to all four wheels thanks to its full-time 4×4 system. With 15,000 pounds of towing capacity, it’s also quite the capable machine, making it a real all-rounder in spite of its movie truck looks.
“With the Super Truck, we wanted to combine medieval, barbaric design, that is impossible to ignore, with the ferocity of the Hemi Hellcat engine,” said Joseph Ghattas, owner, engineer, and head designer of Apocalypse Manufacturing. “There isn’t another 4×4 on the market that has the speed, size, reliability, comfort, space and off-road/on-road features as our latest creation.”
