‘Cartoon Network’ Gave a Dodge Challenger to a High Schooler & He Still Owns It
This giveaway Dodge Challenger from a live action series on Cartoon Network has never left the possession of the teen that won it.
It may seem hard to believe now, but Cartoon Network – which many of us spent many hours watching over the years – launched way back in 1992, though its viewership has declined significantly in recent years. This has spurred many rumors pertaining to the demise of Cartoon Network, but it continues to live on, even though its website has shut down and is now merely part of HBO’s Max.Regardless, many undoubtedly remember the story of Kace Gandee, who was the winner of a contest put on by Cartoon Network back in 2010, which netted him a custom Dodge Challenger.
Turns out, Gandee still owns that particular car, amazingly enough.
Gandee beat out 200,000 other entrants and won the Dodge Challenger many years ago, but was only a 14-year-old high schooler at the time. The grand prize of that contest – a stunt vehicle that one of the main characters drives in the network’s original live-action movie “Ben 10: Alien Swarm” – which was based on the animated series “Ben 10: Alien Force” – was subsequently delivered to its new owner at his school, along with a check to cover all of the associated taxes.
I remember cartoon network had a sweepstake where you entered for a chance to win Kevin’s car from the movie.
A 14 year old kid won and they delivered it to his high school. He’s 27 now and apparently still drives it. https://t.co/dD3N0I4z1v pic.twitter.com/hSxu970iGZ

As one might imagine, Gandee was instantly the cool kid at school, even if he wasn’t legally able to drive the Dodge Challenger yet. “When I first found out I won, I didn’t believe it. I was freaking out. I never win,” he told the Victoria Advocate at that time. “I’ve been a big fan of the show ever since it first came out a couple years ago. “I’m in shock. I still can’t believe I won and it’s real.” Of course, he wasn’t the only one surprised by this development.
“It was only yesterday, when I first saw the car that I actually believed he won it,” said David Reeves, Kace’s step father. “It’s a cool car. “He was excited about getting his driver’s license before, but now he’s chomping at the bit. Guess we’ll just have his mom drive him around in it for now. Maybe give out some rides. five dollars a mile.”
Amazingly, 14 years later today, Gandee reportedly still owns this special Dodge Challenger, which he has been able to legally drive for quite a few years now. It’s a cool story for sure, and one that’s nice to hear in a world where we often tend to get tired of cars and move on to the next shiny new thing without hesitation.
