Charger Hellcat Widebody Lands at Spring Fest of LX 2019

2020 Charger Hellcat Widebody

West Coast event served as its debut and though FCA is calling it a ‘concept,’ we have a strong feeling this will be the final design.

As many of you know, the Spring Festival of LX is a massive gathering of Mopar enthusiasts of all kinds; Dodge fans, YouTubers, celebrities, you name it. And this year’s festival had something special for those Charger fans who felt left in the cold with the Challenger Hellcat Redeye release.

Dodge unveiled the Charger Hellcat Widebody concept (yes, the same one that recently leaked all over the place) at the Pomona Fairplex in Pomona, California, in an effort to gauge user interest. As you can see, the front fascia is noticeably different with its slotted air intake, as opposed to the current gen Hellcat’s dual snorkel upper grille. The main inlet grille is also opened up little more in the upper quadrant, with what looks like a deleted bumper cover insert, presumably for better airflow.

Fog lamp cutouts are also dramatically wider, most likely to accommodate the much wider fender flares. Which cowl over the massive 305 35ZR20 Pirellis on all four wheels.

The rear is also slightly different with what appears to be wider exit airflow vents on the quarter panels. Otherwise, the rear looks almost identical to the current gen’s rear end.

We didn’t get any official specs on the vehicle, seeing as though it is still technically a concept. Judging by the way the Hellcat Challenger’s surprisingly glorious bump from 717 horsepower to 797 with the Redye went down, can we expect the Charger to get the same, if not similar, upgrade in performance? We’re more hopeful than certain at this point. However, we don’t honestly believe Dodge would simply slap on these massive tires and some serious aero without doing something to the motor. Whatever this new concept will be called, we at DodgeForum are excited no less.
