Chrysler 300C: the End is Here
Chrysler Ends 300C Production. Is this the End of Gas at the Pentastar?
Chrysler has bid its iconic 300C sedan farewell. The final 300C performance special edition has already rolled off the line, with standard version production ending imminently. The 300C may well be replaced. However the question is now if it will happen, and then, whether it will be electric only as anticipated by so many, or not?
2,200 485 HP Hemi V8 300C Sold Out in 12 Hours
The regular 300 came with a 292-hp 3.6-liter V6 engine, but Chrysler brought the 485 HP 6.4-liter Hemi V8 300C back as a last goodbye to a range that has captivated owners, movie, and TV audiences and many more for over a decade. That 2,200 run was sold out in 12 hours following its reveal last year.
While the Chrysler 300 badge has been around since the early days of the original Hemi V8 in the early 1960s, the current-generation 300 debuted in 2011. Facelifted with newer tech and an eight-speed automatic in 2015, 300C quietly got on with it. Until Chrysler killed it in line with its grandiose plans on electrification.

An Electric-Only Replacement? Or Gas Too?
Stellantis has long admitted to the prospect replacing the 300 with an all-new electric sedan, but it has neither confirmed nor denied that story. However, in line with other developments within Stellantis, and hot off the growing evidence of the market’s reluctance to EVs as a solution, that plan may very well change.
Looking at 300C’s Dodge Challenger cousin, new Jeep models, and also the new Ram 1500 truck, it seems more plausible that should a large Chrysler sedan return, it will now more likely arrive with a choice of gas and alternative powertrains. We’d bet on differing versions of the new Hurricane turbo straight-six under the next one’s bonnet. And plausibly the choice of an EV and hybrids too.
