2018 Dodge Challenger Demon 800 Horsepower Only 12 Original Miles For Sale

Plum Crazy Purple Dodge Demon has only 12 original miles and still sports the plastic interior coverings from the dealership.

It’s always a conflicting site to see a car sit undriven. However, when things get to this amount of extreme, we kind of have to let it slide. This, while being a trailer queen of sorts, is a preserved part of history. Not only Dodge history but a substantial milestone in automotive history as a whole. The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon needs no introduction. With its 2.3 second zero to sixty spring and sub-ten-second quarter-mile time, the Demon is still the fastest non-electric vehicle, in those milestones, ever. Thus, this example, with only 12 original miles, stands as more of a symbol than an underappreciated toy.

Part of the Eddie Vannoy collection, this Demon will cross the Mecum Auctions block as soon as the Vannoy Collection auction has a new date, as it was recently postponed. This Plum Crazy monster will sell with no reserve. Don’t get too excited, though, as we imagine it isn’t going to need one. We can only imagine what kind of number this thing will pull.

A two year time capsule

This car is so meticulously preserved, it still has the original plastic seat, screen, and steering wheel covers. Additionally, it still has its bright yellow splitter guard. Though this is a hotly debated topic that has gotten so far, even Dodge designers chastise those who leave them on; we feel it’s acceptable in this case.

Of course, the rest of the car aligns perfectly with having only 12 original miles. The paint looks as if it rolled off the assembly line yesterday, and the tires even still shine with a nice wet sheen. This is well and truly a brand new car.

Additionally, this car is a Demon Crate car. The Demon Crate is the iconic one-dollar option that transforms these beasts into nine-second cars. The package includes skinny front wheels, mirror block off plates, a jack, an air compressor, and the all-important second ECU. The second ECU with the proper fuel ups the power output to 840 horsepower. While the Mecum listing does not feature any images of the demon crate, we imagine everything in it is still in the original boxes and plastic as well.

While some may still find it blasphemous to leave such an iconic car undriven, and we definitely see where they are coming from, it is kind of cool to see something like this get preserved. We can’t say we wouldn’t go put some miles on it, though. After all, this is still a Dodge Demon. How could you not want to drive the thing? If nothing else, this thing shows the owners’ immense self-discipline. Whoever winds up winning it may or may not have it. Either way, just seeing a spectacle like this is a limited opportunity indeed. Feast your eyes, then, because another like this may never come and go again.
