Dodge Challenger Falls Victim to Nasty Crash While Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk Races C8 Corvette
A rather hectic scene occurred in Nigeria recently when a C8 Corvette clipped a Dodge Challenger while racing a Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk.
As most of us are well aware, street racing is a dangerous hobby, even if it’s taking place on some back road with no traffic. There are just a lot of things that can go wrong when we’re pushing our cars to the limit, and too much at stake in the event of an accident – when help might be far away. That’s why it’s obviously better to engage in these types of activities at actual race tracks or drag strips, and that fact was once again on display in Lagos, Nigeria recently after a Dodge Challenger became the surprise victim in a rather heated drag race.
In what appears to be some sort of public area, from what we can gauge in these videos, a C8 Corvette is in the process of drag racing a Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk, with bystanders and the camera man standing perilously close to the action. Both cars proceed to fly by the cameraman, with the Corvette seemingly taking the lead in a pretty close contest, but in a split second, everything goes horribly, horribly wrong for quite literally everyone involved.

As the camera pans right, we get to see the C8 smash into a Dodge Challenger that’s just sitting right in the middle of the road, for unknown reasons. It appears as if the Challenger driver may be involved in this particular race day, but just got a bit too close to the action. Regardless, the Corvette clips the front end of that machine – leaving it heavily damaged – after which the owner/driver gets out and stomps the ground, clearly frustrated by what has happened.
As for the Corvette, well, it fared even worse, apparently losing control after that impact and crashing into a light pole, leaving it completely destroyed and in pieces. The Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk can be seen a bit further away, and it apparently crashed into a palm tree, making this a trifecta of destruction that could have been avoided if everyone involved had simple gone to a real drag strip, rather than engage in some silly street race on what appears to be a pretty poor surface.
