Dodge Unveils Race-ready 2020 Drag Pak Challenger at SEMA 2019

Just 50 will be produced and sold to racing teams that will continue Dodge’s dragstrip dominance.
The yearly SEMA show is happening right now, and we’re excited to report on the wide variety of incredible custom builds showing up in the various vendor booths. However, Dodge has also come to bat with an incredible new reveal — the awesome 2020 Drag Pak Challenger.
Designed specifically for the NMCA racing and the NHRA Sportsman Class, the Drag Pak is set to compete head-to-head with Ford’s Mustang Cobra Jet and the Chevrolet COPO Camaro. Like those cars, it’s an ultra-limited production race model not meant for street use.

Just 50 will be produced, and each one is destined for a life of blisteringly fast quarter-mile performances. The Drag Pak will be powered by a 5.8 liter, 354 cubic inch supercharged V8.
The engine’s displacement is dictated in part by the rules of the racing classes it’s designed to compete in. That engine is backed up by a T400 three speed transmission, and the car comes complete with an integrated roll cage certified to quarter mile ETs as low as 7.5 seconds.

The car is a turnkey package, allowing racers to take delivery and start racing it right out of the box. However, we imagine that most race teams will spend a considerable amount of time setting their car up and getting it dialed in “just right.”
This model marks the fourth generation of Dodge’s Drag Pak Challenger development. The newest model builds on the successful third generation model, which claimed NHRA and NMCA championships in 2018.

The classic red, white, and blue paint scheme of the Drag Pak Challenger references the late 1960s heyday of muscle car drag racing. We’re specifically reminded of the famous Sox & Martin drag racing team, which campaigned Mopars to great success through the 1960s and 1970s.
No pricing or order details have been released as of yet, As you can imagine, these cars will be very difficult to get your hands on, and you’ll likely need to show an NHRA or NMCA competition license to even have a shot at owning one.
