Leading up to the 2015 North American International Auto Show, the Chrysler Group has announced a new package for the 2015 Dodge Viper and in addition to a long list of go-fast features, the new GTC trimline offers buyers their choice of 8,000 color options and 24,000 stripe packages. The GTC build portfolio also has 10 wheels options, 16 different interior packages and 8 different aerodynamic setups which, when combined with the 8,000 paint codes and 24,000 stripe packages, offers buyers their choice of 25 million different configurations.

For those who aren’t familiar with a bespoke vehicle design, this is a program previously only offered by very high end automakers like Lamborghini, Bugatti, Bentley and other companies that build cars that cost upwards of $250,000. Bespoke basically means that you can configure your car however you want. For instance, say that a given model that comes with a very colorful interior package, say something with red seats and red trim, that interior package will only be offered with an exterior color that matches. On the other hand, a bespoke design allows owners to pick any colors inside and out – no matter much the colors might clash.

This allows owners to make up some designs that would be found to be unattractive by those who are not colorblind, but it also allows owners to truly customize their car. This 2015 Dodge Viper GTC program guarantees that no two cars will be alike, as once a buyer has ordered a car with a given set of color options, those colors will no longer be available together so the program guarantees that every single Viper GTC will truly be a 1-of-1 design.

In addition to the expansive design process, buyers who order a 2015 Dodge Viper GTC are sent a speedform (as shown above in green) that has been painted like their car so that they can confirm that those are indeed the colors that they want. Once the owner has approved, the production process will begin. As another portion of the GTC package, buyers can track the build process of their Mopar supercar while also getting a weekly update. Finally, buyers can have their cars delivered in an enclosed trailer or they can come to Detroit’s Connor Avenue plant to tour the facility and pick up the car in person.

The 2015 Dodge Viper GTC is based on the Viper GT, which includes the exterior features of the base model Viper SRT, the adaptive suspension setup of the Viper GTS and features of the GTS interior package. The GTC also comes with a customized dash plaque that can wear the owner’s name or the car’s nickname. Of course, the new Viper GTC also comes with the 645 horsepower V10 engine mated exclusively to a 6-speed manual transmission.

The most interesting fact of the 2015 Dodge Viper GTC package is that it carries the same MSRP as the Viper GT, starting at $94,995. This means that if you want a fully customized 2015 Viper GT and you don’t mind waiting for this 1-of-1 Viper to be built to your specifications, you can get the custom Viper for the same price that you would pay for a Viper GT sitting on your local dealership’s showroom floor.

The Dodge Viper GTC customizer should be live on DriveSRT.com within the next few weeks and once it is live, we will all be able to go to the site and play around, building our ideal custom Vipers. Orders on the GTC package will begin in February and the first bespoke Vipers should reach buyers before summer of 2015.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
