Starting at nearly $81,000, Durango SRT Hellcat lays the hammer down on bank accounts, offers NHRA-certified 11.5-second E.T.

Dodge brings the insanity wherever it goes. From the first Viper to the 2018-only Demon, there’s no telling how far beyond driven the Auburn Hills crew can go. Recently, it took its Durango to a whole other level with the upcoming Durango SRT Hellcat. Another one-year-only special, this Durango is the hammer of the gods with families.

But how much to enter Valhalla, though? Dodge delivers: $80,995 base MSRP. Say goodbye to those college and retirement funds, y’all.

Durango is our Dodge three-row muscle car,” said Dodge chief Tim Kuniskis. “Nowhere but Dodge can you find an SUV that can tow more or carry more with a faster quarter-time than the Durango SRT Hellcat.”

For those who dare, that $81,000 admission pass gets you a 710-horsepower, 645 lb-ft of torque 6.2-liter Hellcat Hemi V8 with a monster supercharger bolted on top. They also receive a tow rating of 8,700 pounds, and an NHRA-rated E.T. of 11.5 seconds. In short, this is a rig for competing in the 11.5-second class at Rocky Mountain Race Week, as well as hauling all the important stuff in a small trailer for each day of competition.

Should you pay the toll to ring Hell’s bells on the quarter-mile, you can spend a day at the Bondurant High Performance Driving School in Chandler, Arizona learning to wrangle your Durango SRT Hellcat in the pursuit of domination. The training day is a part of the Dodge/SRT Package offered on all of Dodge’s wild rides.

Those who’d rather keep more of their cash, though, still have a few options on the table. The Citadel, for example, starts at around $48,000. For the price, you get lots of luxury, plus either a Pentastar V6 or Hemi V8 to move it all. Meanwhile, the Durango SRT 392 offers a ton of performance at a more reasonable base MSRP of $62,995. Finally, the Durango SXT RWD model opens the gateway to performance at $31,765.

Order books for most of the Durango lineup are open right now, with delivers set for late 2020. Durango SRT Hellcat fans will have to wait a while, though. The book for the baddest Dodge SUV in town opens this fall, delivers to begin in early 2021. Don’t sleep on the ultimate grocery getter, though, for it’s only available for the 2021 model year.
