Heads up Display Brings Future Tech to Your Vintage Dodge

Hudway’s Cast gives you a fully customizable heads up display that connects to your phone in any vehicle for less than $200.

Nothing beats driving an older Dodge muscle car. But even the newest cars rolling off the assembly line lack certain modern technology features. One of them, heads up displays, are only available in super expensive luxury and sports cars these days. And even if you’ve got navigation or Android Auto/Apple CarPlay capability in your ride, you still have to take your eyes off the road to see it. So when we discovered Hudway’s Cast heads up display recently, we thought it looked like the perfect solution.

The Cast works in any car, requiring only a Bluetooth-equipped smartphone to function. And who doesn’t have one of those these days? From there, you simply mount the base of the Cast wherever you want it using the included 3M tape. Removing the top part is as simple as twisting it and pulling it off if you want to remove it. And as we found out in this video review from YouTuber Geared Towards Automotive, the Cast is also quite the useful device, too.

Getting started is quite simple. “It’s a one-time setup and every time after that you won’t have to pair it again,” our reviewer says. “So it’s just like Bluetooth with your phone or headphones.” The most obvious benefit of the Cast is its ability to provide navigation right in front of your eyes. But that isn’t all it’s good for. “The daily use of the product really is for navigation, of course. But also Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, listening to music, taking phone calls, all while driving safe and not taking your eyes off of the road.”

You can customize the screen of your Cast to fit your own specific needs. It has many functions built in, including maps, music, contacts, time, temperature, and even pitch and roll for you off-roaders. Switching between these screens is a piece of cake as well. Simply swipe your finger left or right across your smartphone and watch it change like magic.

It’s ingenious, really, and pretty affordable at less than $200. So if this sounds like a great way to bring your old Dodge into the future, you can purchase a Hudway Cast by heading over here.
