It’s unclear if the Texas tuner plans on modifying its new 2023 Dodge SRT Demon 170, but it certainly will be taking it to the track, at least.

The Dodge SRT Demon 170 is designed to send the current-gen Challenger out with a bang, though perhaps it won’t be the ICE sendoff that we also originally thought it might be as well. In fact, Dodge’s parent company Stellantis has seemingly reversed course a bit on its decision to ditch ICE entirely in favor of all-electric powertrains, though it’s unclear if that gas-powered future still includes the good old fashioned V8, or if it will consist mostly of forced-induction four- and six-cylinder engines. In the meantime, we’re simply going to enjoy what we have – the insanely powerful, drag strip dominating Dodge SRT Demon 170 – and now we can add Texas-based tuner Hennessey Performance to the list of folks that own one.

Hennessy recently took delivery of this Plum Crazy 2023 Dodge SRT Demon 170 following a roughly eight-month wait, which gave it the perfect opportunity to give us a video overview of the car. Typically, Hennessey likes to modify their cars and extract more horsepower from them, but it’s unclear if that will be the case here – rather, for now at least, the tuner is keen to simply make content with the example they have, which starts with this overview.

By now, most are well aware of the lofty numbers associated with the Dodge SRT Demon 170 – it’s packing a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 cranking out as much as 1,025 horsepower (on E85) and 945 pound-feet of torque, which can propel it from 0-60 in a mere 1.66 seconds and down the quarter-mile in 8.91 seconds at 151 mph. It’s the most powerful and quickest production car in Mopar history, and it may very well hold that record – at least for an ICE-powered vehicle – for a long, long time.

Of course, Dodge only plans to build around 3,300 units of the SRT Demon 170 for global consumption, so they’re already a bonafide classic and certified collectible, meaning that few will likely ever see the drag strip – let alone the street. Hennessey’s car is number 25 of that bunch, making it a rather early example, and aside from its iconic paint color, it’s also spec’d out with a satin black hood, roof, and rear decklid, along with the pricey two-piece carbon fiber wheels, making it a bit more special than most.

Even though it seems as if this one will remain stock, Hennessey promises that far more content is coming, regardless, so we’re certainly excited to see what the tuner has up its proverbial sleeve in that regard – whether it be dyno runs or track outings.
