Hot Rod Discovers Chargers Tragically Abandoned in Midwest Field

These three abandoned Dodge Chargers were found sitting helplessly in Wisconsin, acting as nothing more than shelves.
You really hate to see it—beautiful classics left to rot with no sort of protection from mother nature. Unfortunately, it happens a lot more than we are even aware of. We may never know the number of Mopar dream rides are sitting in someone’s field, never to be saved.
Fortunately, Hot Rod author Ryan Brutt ventured out to the whereabouts of these three wayward Chargers after receiving a tip. No longer a long lost mystery, Brutt recounts his encounter in sobering detail.
“Two were ’70 Dodge Chargers, the other a ’69 model. Two were basic 383 cars and the other a 318, but all had air conditioning. They had been picked up years ago and squirreled away until the time was right to start working on them.” Brutt wrote.
Tragically, it seems the right time to start working on them may not come very soon. Based on their current state, they don’t seem like they’ll be going anywhere in the foreseeable future. Nothing is more painful to see. With the right investments and elbow grease, these cars could once again be someone’s pride and joy.

The urge to hang on to your purchases is understandable. However, some will never accept that they aren’t going to get around to their projects and refuse to sell them. Then, we wind up with this exact scenario. Hopeless car romantics passing around rumors of the cars’ whereabouts, snapping a few pictures and writing about them on the internet. For example, Brutt also wrote about these two classic Mopar beauties left forgotten in this garage.

In essence, if you have a project car that has been sitting for a very long time and you are not sure you will ever have the time to actually get around to working on it, you may want to consider passing it along to the next enthusiast. After all, you wouldn’t want to see something you love wind up as a garbage stand like these Chargers.
