How Do You Improve an Old F-250? By Putting a Dodge Ram Under It
ICON 4×4 builds amazing machines, spending countless man-hours to make it perfect. So what happens when a customer asks for the best Ford F-250 ever made?
ICON 4×4 is in the business of automotive recreation. They got their start in restoration, bringing back the lives of old Toyota FJ40s. Since then, founder Jonathan Ward has moved into building anything cool his customers can dream up. From vintage Rolls Royces, to his derelict restomod Studabakers, Jonathan is the mastermind behind each build.
You are probably reading this trying to figure out why this Ford F-250 is posted on DodgeForum. ICON 4×4 is known to use the best parts available to make the finished product powerful, usable, and durable. So, what do you think happened when a customer brought them an old Ford F-250 to reform?

The customer requested the F-250 be reborn as the most reliable, powerful, and strongest truck possible. So naturally, the best solution was to take the heap of a Ford and place it on a 2007 Dodge Ram chassis. This particular Ram runs the incredible Cummins 5.9 liter diesel engine. The complete running gear from the Ram, the engine, transmission, transfer case, and 4×4 drive, is under this F-250. In addition to using the best truck in the game to make a Ford finally run right, Icon 4×4 put in over 1200 man hours into re-engineering the F-250.

As with a typical Ford, the fit and finish was top notch. Jonathan Ward said, “You should have seen the panel gaps on this thing, big enough to put your fingers in.” Not surprising, but the end result of all that work is stunning. The truck now looks 1000 times better then Ford ever intended. Best of all, ICON 4×4 had Gale Banks work his turbo magic on the Cummins. The boosted 5.9 liter diesel now makes over 800 ft of torque. As amazing at this truck is, check out what Icon did with a 1965 D200. Let us know what you think in the comments.
