Mammoth 1000 RAM TRX Shows Cybertruck Actual Acceleration

Mammoth, supercharged Mopar from Hennessey gets off the line and pulls harder than The AWD Cybertruck.

It’s so simple, and yet means so much. How fast are you off the line? In recent years, MOPAR models have been at the top of this hierarchy. Hellcats, RedEyes, and even the TRX. But all of that might and power is shaken to its core by silence. Electric cars, no matter what you think of them, are damn quick.

Instantaneous torque figures help here. For the All-Wheel-Drive Cybertruck (middle of the range) that means the sprint to 60 miles per hour is wrapped up in a scant 4.1 seconds. The factory TRX? It’s slower by 0.4 seconds. Ouch.

But this isn’t a factory TRX. No, it’s the Mammoth 1000 TRX, as tuned by Hennessey. As the name implies, it has 1000 horsepower. That’s 298 more than stock. That ought to help with those pesky tenths of seconds that are in the Tesla’s favor.

As we see with a trio of runs, the Mammoth 1000 TRX has a considerable edge now. And it’s not just at the top end where the EV usually starts to fall flat. Off the line, the TRX simply causes no fuss, hooks, and goes. It doesn’t quite pull a gap instantly, but it walks the Cybrtruck with ease.

Now, with the additional horsepower, it would be interesting to see the TRX take on the Cyberbeast. With a 0-60 of a claimed 2.6 seconds, there’d be a whole lot more work to be done to reel it in. There’s no denying that it’s going to be crazy quick off the line. But how close could it be? Well, the ball is in Hennessey’s court to really prove how good the Mammoth 1000 really is.

At the end of the day though, the Cybertruck still has to put up with the quirks of being an EV. That’s demonstrated to a strong effect in this video, especially when the RAM sounds so incredible. The Tesla just kinda takes you along for the ride. And the RAM is better at truck stuff. Wild how that happens when you build a real truck.
