One-Owner 2013 SRT Dodge Viper GTS Is One of Just 40 Built in This Spec
Fitted with the optional and rather rare Stryker Package, this Dodge Viper GTS is one of 40 in this shade that didn’t come with stripes.
The Dodge Viper has always been something of an unappreciated model in the realm of supercars, which is both a good thing and a bad thing. Good, because it means that prices remain relatively affordable, but bad, because the Viper obviously deserves more attention than it gets. Regardless, this 2013 Dodge Viper GTS still managed to rake in a fair amount of money when it crossed the auction block recently, and for a few good reasons.
Recently listed for sale at Bring a Trailer, this Dodge Viper GTS lived its entire life under one owner until changing hands at auction for a cool $122,000, though that’s still a bit less than its original MSRP of $148,090. Regardless, we imagine the original owner thoroughly enjoyed the 16k miles they accumulated over a decade or so, while the new owner gets a stellar example of one of our favorite cars of all time.
Finished in a dazzling shade called Stryker Red Tinted Pearl, this Dodge Viper certainly isn’t something we see very often, and for good reason – that particular exterior color is part of the pricey $14,600 Stryker Package, and it’s reportedly one of just 40 with that option and no exterior stripes. The rather impressive color covers a carbon-fiber hood, roof, and decklid, as well as aluminum door panels, and there’s also a very cool an illuminating Stryker third brake light out back.
Inside the cabin, one will find the optional Laguna Interior Package and an 18-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, paired with black Laguna leather Sabelt bucket seats that are power adjustable. The same Laguna leather covers the dash, center console, and door panels, and there are plenty of amenities, to boot – such as the 8.4-inch navigation system, power adjustable pedals, automatic climate control, an Alcantara headliner, and an illuminating Stryker shift indicator.
Power comes from the rather famous 8.4-liter V10, which in this guise was rated to produce 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, flowing to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip rear differential with 3.55 gears. The owner did add an Arrow Racing ECU, and there’s also a rather attractive carbon-fiber X-brace in the engine bay, framing its naturally-aspirated V10. While the seller didn’t quite get all of their money back on this purchase, we have to imagine that this rare beauty will wind up being an appreciating asset for the new owner – if people finally come around and appreciate the Dodge Viper for the amazing machine that it is.
