‘Panther Pink’ 1970 Dodge Super Bee Is Reportedly Just One-of-40
‘Panther Pink’ paint present on this rotisserie restored 1970 Dodge Super Bee makes it incredibly rare – not to mention costly.
In general, the Dodge Super Bee is easily one of the coolest muscle cars ever to grace this earth, though the original only hung around for the 1968-1971 model years before becoming one of many victims of the post-performance boom of that time. Based on the Coronet, the Super Bee touted unique, perfect for the time retro styling, coupled with a heavy-duty suspension, and either the standard 383 Magnum V8 making 335 horsepower or the 426 Hemi V8, which was rated to produce 425 hp. Today, these models are quite coveted and valuable, but this Panther Pink 1970 Dodge Super Bee is a bit more special than most.
Currently up for grabs on eBay with a lofty asking price of $128,500, this 1970 Dodge Super Bee is finished in Panther Pink paint, which reportedly makes it just one of 40 to have left the factory in that blazing bright hue. On top of that, it’s been treated to a full-blown rotisserie restoration, leaving it in fantastic condition with essentially zero flaws. Judging by the photos, it’s hard to argue with that claim.
From top to bottom and everywhere in between, this Panther Pink 1970 Dodge Super Bee is in better than new condition, with a fully painted underbody joining that party, along with the optional black “C” stripe, vinyl roof, and other goodies. Inside, one will find bucket seats, a console, and air conditioning, while the spare Polyglas tire and bumper jack remain present and accounted for in the trunk.
Power for this particular Super Bee comes from the aforementioned 383 Magnum, fitted with a four-barrel carburetor, and it’s mated to a console-shifted automatic transmission. It also comes equipped with power steering and power brakes, both welcome features in today’s world, to boot. On top of all this, the original fender tag is present, the drivetrain is original and date-coded, and everything looks to be as it should be for such a rare and coveted ride.
Of course, one will have to pay big bucks for the privilege of bringing this Panther Pink 1970 Dodge Super Bee home to their own garage, but given how rare and incredibly cool it is, we don’t doubt there’s at least one person out there willing to do just that.
