2013 Dodge SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition For Sale

One-of-150 Launch Edition Viper pays tribute to original GTS with stunning color combo and a few extra creature comforts.

The Dodge Viper came into this world with a bang, giving us an old school hammer in a time when most cars were focusing on finesse. Unfortunately, it was eventually left behind in a world advancing toward things like traction control and quick-shifting automatic transmissions. Even a refresh after a short hiatus from 2010-2013 wasn’t enough to save the Viper, unfortunately. But if you love these things as much as we do, you’ll undoubtedly drool over this incredibly rare 2013 Launch Edition we spotted over at Bring a Trailer.

Painted in the perfect color combo (in our opinion) of blue with white stripes, this gorgeous machine has a mere 870 miles on the odometer. It’s also #38 of just 150 Launch Edition models produced to celebrate the Viper’s return to this world. All of which thankfully sport the exact same exterior hues. The purpose of this special model was to pay tribute to the original Viper GTS while also celebrating a new and heavily revised version of the legendary nameplate. And needless to say, Dodge nailed it.

To complement the car’s classic paint, Dodge fitted the Launch Edition with a set of shiny polished five-spoke aluminum wheels. There’s also a GTS-specific double-vented hood up front. Underneath the carbon fiber and aluminum body, most everything else was essentially identical to every other Viper of this vintage. That includes the rip-roaring 8.4-liter V10 producing 640 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque, along with a proper 6-speed manual transmission.

The interior, however, is a different story. There are quite a few things that make the inside of the Launch Edition unique. Starting with a bunch of contrast stitching. The Black Laguna leather is joined by a mix of Alcantara and satin silver trim to form an attractive cabin. And of course, there are a few Stryker badges inside that sport a blue background in lieu of the regular Viper’s gray hue. It’s quite a nice interior overall, representing a big step up from earlier Vipers and their somewhat sparse cabins.

For those who love the original Viper’s rawness but also appreciate creature comforts, this machine is hard to beat. It might not be as edgy and hardcore, but that’s not always a bad thing. Plus, it’s also an amazing thing to look at. And it just makes us even more misty eyed to know that the Viper isn’t still with us.
