Sandpaper-Wrapped Charger Hellcat Sounds Strange–Actually Somehow Works
Certainly the world’s first sandpaper wrapped Charger Hellcat, but the real question is – will it be the last?
Folks have been customizing automobiles since, well, basically since the very first one landed in private hands, and we often think to ourselves – surely we’ve seen everything there is to see in regard to modifications. However, every once in a while, something comes along that we haven’t seen before, as people somehow continue to innovate – oftentimes, in rather bizarre ways. That’s certainly a good word to describe this sandpaper wrapped Charger Hellcat, which we recently stumbled across on YouTube.
The concept of a sandpaper wrapped Charger Hellcat is obviously quite strange, and yet, in this case at least, it somehow works.
Dipped Autoworks in Las Vegas is the talent behind this unique project, which reportedly took around two weeks to complete this particular job. It includes the custom graphics that adorn it – and allegedly cost $225,000.

We’re not so sure we believe that someone dropped nearly a cool quarter-million on this unusual upgrade, but as absurd as it is, would that really come as a surprise?
True to form, our host notes that the surface is pretty rough – like sandpaper – though truthfully, we’re pretty sure it’s just a rough texture like bedliner material, which certainly wouldn’t cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to apply.
In any event, our host is quite adamant that it feels like sandpaper regardless, and he’s also quite excited about how well it turned out. Honestly, we can’t lie and say that it looks terrible either, because it actually does work.
Though we’re not exactly sure how you would go about cleaning something like this – it’s sure to ruin your hands, wash mitt, and towels if you try to scrub it – this sandpaper wrapped Charger Hellcat is, if nothing else, perhaps the most unique such vehicle we’ve seen in a long time.
Just when you think that people have run out of ways to make their cars stand out from a crowded pack, one conjures up a crazy idea that wound up blowing more than a few minds – simply head to the comments and you’ll find plenty of support for the project, and we imagine it’ll be turning heads everywhere it goes from now on, too.
