SEMA 2021 Dodge RAM Truck Builds: Wicked Wednesday Presented by the All-New Nitto Recon Grappler™ A/T

Not everyone can make it to SEMA in person to see all the impressive builds. But that is OK, we got your back. SEMA is a wonderland of cars and truck and accessories and there is no way we could summarize the entire show in one article. However, we can focus on some of the best Dodge RAM truck builds that were on hand. Of course the TRX is represented but there is a whole lot more than that to the show.
This week’s “Wicked Wednesday” Presented by Nitto is all about these Dodge RAM truck builds. Typically, these “Wicked Wednesday” articles focus on a single vehicle. But with the eye popping variety at SEMA there is no way we could focus on just one. The folks at American Trucks did a walkaround video of some of the most outrageous builds spotted at SEMA. This video was recently uploaded to the American Trucks Ram YouTube channel. And if you could not be there yourself this is the next best thing. Let’s take a look at some of the favorites.
Rex Runner Concept
This build starts with a TRX so already it is one of the best trucks on the planet. But this one has details that make it stand out even more from the crowd. There quite a few concept pieces on this rig. However, there are some Dodge-backed accessories that you can get directly from your dealer if you should desire. The rock rails, bed step and exhaust tips are examples of Dodge accessories shown on this truck. On the concept side is some of the auxiliary lighting and skid plating. The truck rides on a set of Black Rhino wheels wrapped in 37-inch tires. The gray paint and Mopar blue accents really set this truck off and it looks great.
Outdoorsman Concept
This rig is built for all of your overlanding adventures. It starts with a RAM Big Horn and gets a 2-inch lift from Fox. A truck with a mild lift is nothing new. But what is new is the concept vacuum cleaner that the stored under the rear seats. But out in the truck bed is where things really get fun. The rack has storage space for a kayak and fishing poles. In the bed itself is a bike mounted on a cool slide out rack. This truck has your outdoor pursuits are covered.
Magnaflow 2021 TRX
Here we have another TRX. This one is a collaboration between Magnaflow and Anderson Composites. Maganaflow needs no introduction but for those not familiar with Anderson Composites they make some great carbon fiber accents. The hood vent inserts shown on this truck look outstanding. But there are other subtle touches like fender vents and even some venting around the taillights. Overall this is a great looking truck with some subtle changes.
Bully Dog
So much for subtlety. This truck is in your face. Starting life as a RAM 2500 this beast is running on massive 28-inch wheels. There is a massive airbag lift on this truck. There is a ton of chrome and powder coating all over this rig. Up front is a huge custom grille. It is very clean and very big.
Slammed Fifth Gen RAM
The Bully Dog is lifted to the sky, but this RAM is slammed to the ground with its airbag setup. This truck rides low on a set beautiful wheels. There is not a lot of information on this truck but walking around it you can see that this is a nice clean build. Not everyone loves slammed pickup trucks but if that is your thing, then this is a great example.
Kanati RAM TRX
Guess what? Another TRX. But this custom rig manages to stand out with the 39-inch tires on bronze wheels. The truck sits just right on a set of modified Bilstein suspension. Up front is a low-profile bumper that houses some Rigid lights. Out back in the bed is a slew of accessories that you can use while overlanding with this truck.
Armageddon RAM
If you have a setup like this a small part of you has to be rooting for the breakdown of civilization. The truck itself is a RAM HD with a massive lift from Fox and body armor everywhere. The truck is incredible, but that is only a part of the story. On top of the truck is a Smart car that has scissor doors and is modified to look like a mini version of the RAM. It looks like a lunar rover sitting up there. But even that is not the coolest accessory. Out back there is a Supra SA 450 that will take you and 15 of your friends across any body of water you need to cross.
PreRunner RAM
Next to the Armageddon you might not even notice this PreRunner concept. It is not a HD or a TRX, but s standard RAM 1500 truck. Fiberglass fenders front and rear widen the truck for a more aggressive stance. Hiding under those big fenders is an impressive amount of Bilstein hardware that will take this truck anywhere you would want to go. Very slim profile bumpers are fitted front and rear. This is a build that the average person on the street would walk past and not think twice about. But when you look closer you realize that this thing is not even close to a standard 1500. Lovely build.
