Bewitching Dodge Warlock Featured at 2018 Spring Carlisle Event
Rare and rebellious 1977 Dodge D100 Warlock a high point of April 19-21 auction.
Carlisle Auctions will be holding its 2018 Spring Carlisle Auction this month in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The family-friendly auto show event Spring Carlisle is happening April 18-22, and the auction is taking place during that event, on April 19-21). As always, Carlisle offers a varied and impressive lot of vehicles, but it’s the 1977 Dodge D100 Warlock that truly put a spell on us.
In the late 1970s, Dodge sold custom versions of their trucks under their “adult toys” line, which included the Lil’ Red Express as well as the Dodge Warlock. Originally a concept truck, the Warlock went into production and, in our opinion, it remains one of the coolest trucks to come from this era.
The year 1977 was a time for rebels. Punk rock was exploding as bands like the Sex Pistols, The Ramones, and the Clash were shaking up popular culture and society. The Dodge Warlock definitely has punk-rock swagger and stands out as a rebel among its automotive contemporaries.
The shortbed Warlock features beautiful custom details such as gold pin striping; oak-lined side rails and stepside bed; and custom badges and emblems.
This tough Warlock clearly has muscle, and backs it up with a 340 c.i. V8 under the hood. It also has an Edelbrock carburetor with electric chokes, Accel coil and distributor, chrome valve covers, chrome air cleaner dual exhaust, and 15 inch wheels with BFGoodrich radial TA tires. The truck has power brakes, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, and power steering. Yeah, it is a clean, mean machine.
Other amenities include 340 hood emblems and fender emblems, dual hood scoops, fiberglass running boards, roof wing center sun visor, column shift, custom pleated door panels, his and her sunroof, factory dash and gauges, Mopar oil pressure and oil temp gauges, woodgrain trim throughout, a modern Mopar AM/FM CD/Cassette.
This is a very unique find. After all, there are not a lot of these bad boys out there. The lucky new owner will have to get used to turning heads every time this truck is on the road. Bidding can be done both at the massive 2018 Spring Carlisle Auction in Carlisle Pennsylvania, April 19-21, or online.
