Tuned 392 Suspiciously Paces Charger Hellcat Redeye in YouTube Clip

Scatpack Vs Hellcat Highway YouTube Race

YouTube Shorts Clip shows a 392 Scat Pack keeping up with a Hellcat Redeye at 130 MPH, and we’re a bit suspicious about it.

There’s no shortage of faked footage on the internet. Nor is there any shortage of claims that may or may not align with reality. This particular instance seems like it could be a case of the latter. After all, a tuned NA 392 Scat Pack Charger, on paper, should be nowhere near competitive with a Hellcat Redeye. However, this is exactly what the title of this clip claims is the case. So let’s dive in and see what’s what around here.

The clip appears on a YouTube channel called FNB Marcus, and, for full disclosure right off the bat, this channel is full of plenty of things we certainly cannot endorse, like street racing and takeovers. However, this clip piques interest because there’s no shortage of footage of the red Hellcat Redeye in the video on the channel. Though the Hellcat stays ahead of the Scat pack, it’s not by as much as one would expect. However, that’s where things get a little interesting.

Gauge Cluster Confirms It’s A Scat Pack

At the beginning of the clip, the Scat Pack seems to be pulling full tilt already. However, the Hellcat lays into the throttle a bit and starts to scoot away. That said, it doesn’t quite move away like one would expect it to. Effectively, the cars stay side by side until the end of the short clip. Towards the end, the cameraman pans down to the 392 gauge cluster to show their speed. In doing so, it shows the speedometer tops out at 180 miles per hour, which is consistent with the gauge cluster of a Scat Pack model. Hellcat models have speedometers that read 200.

That’s not where things are suspicious, though. Clearly, the cars are what the title claims to be. However, the clip seems a bit misleading in pointing out that the tuned 392 is keeping up with a Hellcat Redeye. However, one could argue that the word “playing” in the title means the driver of the Hellcat was taking it easy on the 392 driver. This is what seems to be the case.

If you listen closely, you can hear the driver of the Hellcat pedaling the throttle a bit towards the end. So, if we had to take an educated guess, we’d say that the Hellcat driver was laying off the throttle a bit for the sake of making it a bit of a closer race. After all, even with the greatest tune available, a naturally aspirated 392 car will never keep up with a Hellcat Redeye, even in bone stock format.

Overall, the clip reinforces one thing: even the Scat Pack can get down when it comes to high speeds. We’d advise doing it on the track. We’d also recommend not going to takeovers. If you’re going to do some antics on the streets, look for empty ones.
