The Dodge Viper ACR Needs More Horsepower – Said no one Ever

Oh ze Germans… They will always attempt to “perfect” everything they come across, even if such thing is already pretty darn perfect. After all, the Dodge Viper ACR has crushed 13 track records the Germans couldn’t, right?

Regardless, it’s the never-ending pursuit for perfection that bonds all gear heads alike, and that’s exactly what Karl Geiger, owner of the legendary GeigerCars is attempting to do with America’s fastest, most hardcore and raw sports car, the Viper ACR. But how does he plan on doing that? For starters, lots of ECU fine-tuning to allow the Viper to run a little richer, and upgraded (not sure how) intake valves, hydraulic lifters, a higher lift camshaft, stronger pushrods, and a stainless steel exhaust with new  headers and catalytic converters.

If Gieger’s math is right, all of these upgrades will yield an extra 120 American (or are they German now?) horsepower out of the massive V10 sitting in the Viper’s deep engine bay. As if the Viper ACR didn’t already have world-class horsepower and aerodynamics, the Germans also added new “dive-flaps” and other carbon fiber aero bits to improve handling and stability. I mean, seriously?

If this recipe actually improves the speed and agility of the the Viper ACR, it will certainly be the most poisonous Viper we’ve seen in decades, and also the most expensive. Geiger says they can get you a Viper ACR and modify it for a total of $248,000 bucks!
