Wicked Wednesday: Hellephant-Swapped 6×6 RAM TRX Final Shakedown!

Hennessey Performance tuned a Hellephant crate engine up to 1,200 HP then dropped it into a 6×6 RAM TRX for the ultimate off-road monster.

A stock RAM TRX pickup truck is awesome. The Hellephant crate engine is awesome. A three axle 6×6 pickup truck is awesome. So, what do you call a vehicle that combines all three of these things? A trifecta of awesome? Triple awesome? Or perhaps simply the Hellephant-Swapped 6×6 RAM TRX by Hennessey Performance. The example that you see here had some additional engine tuning done to it. This increased the horsepower to a staggering 1,200. Only three of these incredible machines will ever be built. However, the ‘regular’ MAMMOTH 1000-upgraded RAM TRX 6×6 conversion will continue to be offered once the three 1,200 horsepower examples are gone. Although the company plans to only make 12 copies of the 1,000-horsepower version.

This week’s “Wicked Wednesday” is all about this Hellephant-Swapped 6×6 RAM TRX. Curious to see how this insane truck performs? A video recently posted to the Hennessey Performance YouTube channel can help you with that. In this video the folks responsible for building this crazy thing are taking it for a final shakedown on the Pennzoil Proving Ground. If this video doesn’t make you all giddy and force a smile on your face, we don’t know what will. Of course, if things like mpg ratings are important to you, don’t even bother clicking play. However, we suspect most of you are like us and will watch this in awe over and over again.

Hennessey MAMMOTH 6X6

The truck in the video has an extra 200 horsepower which is fun for bragging rights. But in reality, the MAMMOTH 6X6 RAM TRX with 1,000 horsepower can still do just above everything that the 1,200-horsepower version can. So, what do you get in your 6×6 RAM TRX besides more power? 6×6 locking rear axles are part of the package. You will get six 37-inch off-road tires. The extended platform also means you get a significantly larger pickup bed out back. And you get all the other normal upgrades such as custom bumpers, exterior badging, and so forth. This over-the-top build is also fully warrantied for 2 years or 24,000 miles.

Limited Edition

Three 1,200-horsepower and twelve 1,000-horsepower 6×6 conversions will be built. Production numbers are about the only thing limited on this truck. The fifteen lucky owners will be able to take these rigs just about anywhere they want. Assuming wide open highways or fields are on the itinerary. This would not be the best choice to navigate the city streets in New York or Los Angeles. The new owners may also want to use some of that extra bed space to pack some additional fuel. No official mpg rating was provided. However, we assume this truck would be measured in gallons per mile rather than miles per gallon.
