Winter Is Upon Us! This Viper V10 Table Will Keep You Warm

Epic coffee table constructed from Viper V10 engine parts is more than just a conversation starter. Gather ’round and warm on up!
There aren’t a lot of uses for a Viper V10 engine that doesn’t involve going in a car that many car enthusiasts will approve of. However, we feel like this is a bit of an exception. So, if you’re looking for some spectacular patio art and an excellent centerpiece for those cool winter nights with friends, this just may be your answer. That’s especially true if you’re a big fan of the Dodge Viper, which is fairly likely. It’s hard not to be, right?
The lovely folks over at Motor1 got the scoop on this fantastic piece of automotive furniture art. While the concept of making an engine block into a coffee table is not a new one, this one sure takes it to a new level.

The table is constructed of a 2002 Dodge Viper V10 engine’s components. It features four rods and pistons as the legs holding the engine block up as well as four more rods and pistons holding the table surface up. The engine block has been painted black, save for the front and rear cover gasket surfaces as well as a handful of other accenting components throughout its structure.
Oh yeah, each cylinder has an independent propane burner that spits flames out, too.
We can’t imagine a better centerpiece for a meetup of Dodge Viper owners.

The Table Is Just A Part of This Amazing Piece
The complete ensemble includes two racing seats separated by a center console. Additionally, the ignition system for the propane burners is controlled by a key. To top it all off, users control the amount of gas in the system by way of a foot pedal that resembles that of an actual Dodge Viper’s accelerator pedal. Just like the real thing, the more you push the pedal down, the more heat you get! It seems no detail was missed!
The table is the work of John Cobb and his company Alaris Invent. A quick look at their website shows a vast collection of automotive furniture art.
Cobb takes making this furniture very seriously. That is plenty evident in the high quality of all of his work. However, in a message to Motor1, he describes that this Viper V10 table is his most ambitious project to date. It didn’t set out to be just another table. The concept was to make the entire assembly a single unit. The chairs, table, and precise flame control all work together to create a single fantastic piece of art.
If you’re curious to see how it works, Motor1 has a video demonstration of the process of starting the flames.
Sadly, it seems that this is a one-off project for the time being. That’s a bummer because we sure want one!
